Well it’s on. One of the many great things about my wife Shannon—plant a seed and watch it grow! I mentioned this idea a while ago; last year I think, and we have casually discussed it as a possibility since. Now it’s on!
We got a bike we could both do the trip on—the V-strom—and then just thought about it. Next thing I know she has an itinerary finalized with places to stay along the way already booked and this blog to document the trip! We even bought another bike for her to ride solo.
So, while Shannon is planning and updating this log, I’ll be getting the bikes ready and trying to keep you abreast of all the technical details; mileage, elapsed time, info on the bikes and equipment we are both using. I’ll also share my thoughts and experiences of preparing and embarking on a trip like this.
Oh, I’ll be taking pictures too.

A triumph chop sounds like a good idea. It would compliment the V strom quite nicely.
